Alright, I want to do a lil giving back after having so much support the past years I've been here, sooooooo...
I'm im offering free pony OC requests every week, starting next Friday! But there is a little catch. It's is not guaranteed that you will have your request done. See, it'll be random. You can send your OC to my email, along with your username so I could credit you as the OC's creator. It'll be a surprise thing. Maybe your pony could pop up from me. Who knows? But I think it'd be a fun thing to do.
So if you want to have the possibility of me drawing your OC, with having patience, then email me at email@example.com and insert your references so I could draw it correctly, and your dA username to refer you.
God Bless Vane
I know it's awkward to ask, but I just have very few people to talk to and it gets pretty lonely sometimes. This is saying that I practically stay at home alone most of the week, doing chores and having no one with me until the evening. Also considering I have about 2 friends at school and we don't hang out much, and I do talk to very very often, but... I dunno, it's like I have a limited number of friends, so... yeah. I'm just asking for some company, either through notes or even email..
I've never really been into HTTYD,but I do want DreamWorks to keep running. They've made great films(personal favorites including The Croods,Kung Fu Panda 2,and especially Prince of Egypt). It'd be a shame to see them fall. They're one of the few companies to compete with Disney animation-wise.I'm curious as to how their next movie,'Home' will turn out.
I love HTTYD sooooo much. The second one was super good too, and yet I'm torn. The animation was amazing, the music was inspiring, and the characters are adorable (both Toothless AND Hiccup... ehehehe).
But when *SPOILERS CENSORED* happened, I felt really really disappointed inside. Seriously, getting the family back together again was worth the price of admission. But the sudden permanent departure of *SPOILER* took away so much of the heart of the movie. I... I think I just need time to recover. *sniff*
Warning: spoilers may happen here...
Also, I'm not sure about some of the story elements. I'm a storyteller at heart, and one of the many things I love about the first one is the way the filmmakers crafted the story so well. This one was adequate, and had some really great moments, but at the end I was left feeling slightly unsatisfied with the path the story took. Hiccup's mum could have been a much more important part of the plot, instead of basically disappearing for most of the climatic scenes at the end. The big "boss battles" seemed like the filmmakers were like, "Hey, we had a big dragon queen in the last one and the audience loved it. Let's have even BIGGER dragons in this one and blow 'em out of the theater!" Uh... yeah. That's not why I came to see the film. (though I love the design of the Bewilderbeast)
But all that said, maybe if I saw it a second time, I would be more forgiving of these things and just enjoy the film for what it is. Oh, and I totally agree that it is better than Frozen. (Why on earth is that one so stinkin' popular?)
Well, it's like one of my favorite internet critics, Animat, says in his review for HTTYD2, is that the film wants to focus more on the dragons and the conflict with the dragons. The main attraction is the dragons and the story tells more about them beautifully. To me, the human characters just contribute, not vice versa for me. I still love them, but I root for the dragons more because they're so dang awesome.
i get that Stoick's death was very sad. It was... Buuuut, I didn't cry at it. I simply treated as any other animated parent death. But this one was more tragic since it came from none other than Toothless. It did hit me more than Lion King or Bambi... But I cried the most when Hiccup was upset and Toothless came to comfort him, only to be pushed away. I agree with comments concerning that on Youtube that that was kinda disturbing when Hiccup was there when Toothless was not himself. Very sad really. But it's that I think that Hiccup wanted somebody to blame but himself.. I mean, whose idea was it to negotiate with Drago? Hiccup. And he started all this conflict. He had good intentions, but he had to learn about making the best decisions, especially if he's gonna become chief. But that was the turning point. Because of the death of his father, Hiccup felt that he wants to do him a favor and take his place, wanting to be a better leader. And that's what I think is just told beautifully.
then that one scene where Hiccup tells Toothless that he forgives him was just astounding. I actually cried even more at that scene. Just seeing Toothless shift from hypnotized to normal, I was just begging in my mind for him to come back. As if he was under a spell that only Hiccup could break him out of. And when he did, I was just filled with joy. So much. It was a very precious moment and it just adds to the story on themes of forgiveness.
I also want to mention on that that the themes they touched on were great. Manipulation, forgiveness, coming of age, making decisions, life, death, separation... I dunno. I'm into great storytelling as well. I could talk about a lot of scenes from this film.
Glad I wasn't the only one to think it was that good, it beat Frozen to me. I liked Frozen but there was more to HTTYD2 that I feel should have had more popularity. As far as CG movies go its up there with Wreck-It Ralph, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Monsters Inc. and Despicable Me. Which are my favorites
Exactly what I thought xD I thought it was a proper sequel, kinda rare for sequels to live up to the first movies but I think that it ended up being better. Though not sure why Astrid looked so different, the other characters looked pretty much the same but her facial features changed more than anyone else's lol Toothless was pretty cool in it, I did like the Cloudjumper alot, liked how he was owl like (the new house we moved into has 4 owls living in our backyard xD)
Yeah, and Dreamworks is really good at that. :3 .... Except for the last two Shreks, BUT WHATEVER. XD Well, they were supposed to me older.. I can see that she still looks like astrid and such. ah, Cloudjumper. He was lovely. It's funny that he sometimes blinks with one eye. Kinda has a little resemblance to Toothless in design... I wonder if that means anything....
very beautiful. Very much nothing I expected. Well, yeah, I expected it to be great, but not AWESOME!! Gosh, it was so magnificent. The story, themes, animation, design, voices, conflict, suspense, heartwarming parts, action, AAAH!!!
Oh my gosh, this would be so awesome! Too bad my OC's design isn't finalized.
I was wondering, if you have a chance, could you critique my art sometime? I'm trying to make it a bit more tooney, but I don't have much practice on the expressions. If you can, I'll note you a link to the pic.
